Who We Are
MG GlobalMed Connect (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a registered company based in Lusaka, Zambia, acting as an official international medical referral agent. We help connect patients in Zambia with hospitals in our referral network abroad — currently Acıbadem and Medicana, both in Türkiye — and coordinate the practical side of a referral: introductions, travel, visas, accommodation, and follow-up.
We do not provide medical care, medical advice, or a diagnosis ourselves. Please see our Medical Disclaimer.
MG GlobalMed Connect is the trading name of MG GLOBALMED CONNECT LIMITED, a private company limited by shares registered in Zambia (Company Registration No. 120251030873, TPIN 2003994767), with its registered address at Plot 22275, New Kasama, Lusaka, Zambia.
What We Collect
When you submit our enquiry form, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your phone number
- Your email address (optional)
- Your city and country
- The general enquiry category you choose from a fixed list (for example, Cardiac, Oncology, Orthopaedic, Neurological, Fertility, Transplant, Diagnostic, or Other)
- Your preferred hospital, if you already have one in mind
- Your preferred way to be contacted — WhatsApp, phone, or email
- How you heard about us
- Your confirmation that you agree to be contacted about your enquiry
- Separately, whether you agree to receive further communications from us. This is optional and unticked by default.
If you contact us directly by WhatsApp or phone, we may record the same kind of basic contact and enquiry information from that conversation.
As your case progresses, our coordination team adds operational details to your record: which coordinator and which hospital in our referral network are assigned to you, the current stage of your case, and logistics details such as visa status, travel status, whether accommodation has been booked, and whether you need an interpreter.
What We Deliberately Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, upload, or receive any medical records, scans, test results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or discharge summaries. This is not an oversight — it is a deliberate policy, built into how our systems work:
- Our enquiry form and internal case records have no file upload capability of any kind.
- The enquiry category you choose is always from a fixed list — there is no free-text field for medical details.
- We ask that you never send medical reports or test results to us by email, WhatsApp, or through this website.
Any clinical information a hospital in our referral network needs from you is collected and held directly by that hospital, under its own clinical and data protection obligations — not by us.
Why We Collect It, and Who We Share It With
We collect this information to respond to your enquiry, coordinate your referral, and manage the practical logistics of your treatment journey abroad.
We share the information above with:
- The specific hospital you are referred to — currently Acıbadem or Medicana, both in Türkiye — so they can receive your referral and arrange your care;
- Service providers who help us arrange travel, visas, or accommodation, only where needed for your specific trip;
- Zambian authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for any other organisation’s marketing purposes.
How Long We Keep It
DRAFT NOTE: the retention period below is a placeholder and must be confirmed with legal counsel before publication.
We keep your enquiry and case information for as long as needed to support your referral, plus a further period afterward for legitimate record-keeping and legal purposes — currently, up to 5 years after your case is closed, or sooner if you ask us to delete your information and we have no legal reason to keep it.
Your Rights Under Zambia’s Data Protection Act
DRAFT NOTE: this section describes rights in general terms only. A qualified Zambian lawyer must confirm the exact rights, their conditions, and the correct name and contact details of the supervisory authority before publication.
Zambia’s Data Protection Act No. 3 of 2021 gives you rights over your personal data. In general terms, you can typically expect to be able to:
- Ask us what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete your personal data, where we have no legal reason to keep it;
- Object to how we are using your data, in certain circumstances;
- Withdraw any consent you previously gave us, such as marketing consent, at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with Zambia’s data protection authority if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
How to Request a Copy of Your Data, or Ask Us to Delete It
You can use our Data Request form to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it. You can also contact us directly using the details on our Contact page. We aim to respond within 30 days.
